Cisco Systems Inc., (CSCO) has been chosen by Stephen Weiss, chief investment officer and managing partner of Short Hills Capital Partners, as one of his final trades. The networking equipment company recently reported fourth-quarter revenue of $17.25 billion, exceeding analyst estimates of $16.82 billion.
This beat was part of a strong earnings season for Cisco, with adjusted earnings per share coming in at $1.22 for the quarter, surpassing estimates of $1.17 per share.
Other notable picks include Cheniere Energy Inc., (LNG), which was chosen by Jim Lebenthal, partner and chief market strategist at Cerity Partners. This recommendation comes on the heels of TD Cowen analyst Jason Gabelman upgrading Cheniere Energy to Buy and raising its price target from $280 to $290.
Merck & Co., Inc., (MRK) was also selected by Joseph M. Terranova, senior managing director for Virtus Investment Partners, with Daiwa Capital analyst Narumi Nakagiri recently upgrading Merck from Neutral to Outperform and raising its price target from $120 to $143.
