Strategy Joins Top US Equity Issuers with $20.9 Billion Raise
Strategy Inc., listed on Nasdaq as MSTR, has reached the top four US equity issuers after raising $20.9 billion this year. The company's CEO, Phong Le, posted a chart on X (formerly Twitter) showing Strategy's ranking alongside other major tech companies like SpaceX and Alphabet/Google.
The chart, which cites ECM Analytics, Dealogic, Capital IQ, and company filings among its sources, places SpaceX first at $86.3 billion, Alphabet second at $25.7 billion, Intel third at $23 billion, and Strategy fourth with $20.9 billion in equity capital.
Strategy's position reflects the company's strategy of using repeated sales of common shares and preferred stocks to raise capital, rather than a single large offering. Its latest Form 8-K filing with the SEC shows that from August 24-30, Strategy raised $602.8 million in net proceeds from MSTR common share sales.
The company then allocated these funds: $369.7 million into Bitcoin, $151.8 million into repurchases of Stretch preferred stock, $50.7 million into Stretch dividends, and $30.0 million into its dollar liquidity account.
