Streamers Ditch Free Trials, But Alternatives Exist
Disney+, one of the first major streaming services to eliminate its free trial offer in 2020, is no longer an option for users seeking a free taste of its content. The service, which offers popular titles like Marvel movies and Star Wars universe shows, had been providing a free trial since its launch but discontinued it two years ago.
Despite the lack of a direct Disney+ free trial offer, there are still ways to access the streaming service for free. One option is through Hulu + Live TV, which includes a subscription to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited at no additional cost. The service starts with a three-day free trial and costs $89.99 per month after that.
Another way to get Disney+ for free is by signing up for DirecTV's MyEntertainment and MyKids Genre Packs, as well as its larger Signature Packages (with a Gemini device lease). These plans start with a five-day free trial, allowing users to watch Disney+ during the trial window.
For those who don't want to use these hacks or prefer not to commit to a paid plan just yet, standalone Disney+ packages start at $11.99 per month. However, a more affordable option is the Disney+, Hulu Bundle, which starts at just $12.99 a month.
