Streaming Giants Scale Back Price Hikes Amid Consumer Spending Concerns
Major streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon's Prime Video are taking steps to moderate their price increases as consumers approach their spending limits. According to a report from Ampere Analysis, these companies have reduced the size of average price hikes from 24% in 2023/24 to 14% in 2025/26.
The average monthly increase has dropped modestly from $1.67 to $1.54 over the same period. The report highlights that ad-free tiers have seen larger price rises than ad-supported tiers, with a growing gap between the two options.
Ampere Analysis believes this trend indicates that streaming services are nearing the limits of consumers' willingness to pay, leaving less room for significant price increases in the future.
