Alan Sugar, the billionaire businessman and star of The Apprentice, has publicly criticized American Express after being denied a credit limit increase.

Sugar, who has a reported net worth of £1.138 billion, spoke to four different representatives on the phone before finally reaching someone in Brighton who was aware of his financial status.

However, even with this knowledge, Sugar's request for an increased credit limit was refused due to American Express' system.

Sugar took to social media platform X to express his frustration and called the company 'a bunch of idiots.'

He also defended himself against criticism from followers who questioned why he needed a credit card with his vast wealth.
