Super Investors Flock to Tech Giants Amid Cloud Computing Boom
Some of the world's most successful fund managers, known as 'super investors', have been quietly rotating their portfolios. By examining the stocks they own, it is possible to gain insight into which companies continue to attract strong interest.
According to Dataroma data, technology, digital payments, and financial companies dominate the list of stocks most widely held by super investors. Microsoft tops the list, followed closely by Alphabet, Amazon, Meta Platforms, Visa, and Berkshire Hathaway. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Mastercard, and Apple also feature among the top 10.
Microsoft is the most widely held stock among the super investors tracked by Dataroma, with 37 major investors holding the company's shares, accounting for around 1.78% of their combined portfolios. AltaRock Partners has made Microsoft one of its biggest investments, while Bill Ackman's Pershing Square also holds a significant stake in the company.
Alphabet is the second most held stock among super investors, with 36 major investors holding the company's shares, accounting for around 2.08% of their combined portfolios. Li Lu's Himalaya Capital has a particularly large investment in Alphabet, while Berkshire Hathaway recently added nearly $17 billion to its Alphabet position.
