Switching Password Managers Just Got a Whole Lot Easier
Google has introduced a new feature on Android that makes it easy to switch between password managers. This means users can transfer their passwords and passkeys directly from one provider to another, all within a few clicks.
Historically, moving passwords required downloading them into an unencrypted text file, leaving them vulnerable to hacking. However, with this new feature, the data transfer process is securely coordinated by Android, ensuring that users' information remains safe.
The transfer experience is already available on Google Password Manager, 1Password, Bitwarden Password Manager, and Dashlane, with more partners expected to follow soon.
