Taiwanese prosecutors have charged nine individuals, including one from Nvidia and two from Super Micro, for illegally exporting high-end AI servers to mainland China. The charges come amidst ongoing tensions between the US and China over AI infrastructure.

The accused allegedly used fake websites and falsified information to evade export restrictions on graphics processing units (GPUs) known as 'B300', which have been banned from sale to China. The B300 GPUs were installed in 74 servers that successfully made it to China, while an attempt involving 56 servers failed.

Nvidia spokesperson Patrick Rutherford stated that the company will work with Taiwanese authorities to resolve the allegations, while Super Micro said it cooperated with the investigation and would continue to enhance its export compliance program.
