Take-Two Seeks Subpoenas for Microsoft and Discord in GTA 6 Leak Investigation
Take-Two Interactive is seeking court-ordered subpoenas for data from Microsoft and Discord to identify GTA 6 leakers.
The move comes after a series of leaked gameplay clips were posted online, including nine videos showing footage of the game's protagonist, Jason.
Taking a digital-first approach, Rockstar Games has confirmed that there won't be a physical disc for GTA 6, which is set to release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles. The Standard Edition will cost $80, while the Ultimate Edition will cost $100.
According to the court filing, Take-Two wants data from Discord servers and a GitHub repository hosted by Microsoft to identify users who have posted copyrighted content allegedly infringing on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
