Take-Two Serves Subpoenas on Microsoft, Discord, X Over GTA 6 Leaks

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has taken a significant step in its ongoing efforts to combat the leak of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) content. The company has filed subpoenas against Microsoft, Discord, and X, seeking records tied to accounts involved in posting and sharing leaked material.

The subpoenas, made in the Southern District of New York on August 20, are part of Take-Two's effort to identify alleged infringers and protect its rights. The company is looking for identity data, linked OneDrive and Xbox accounts, and internal records connected to the 'CyberLeek' persona.

Mircosoft-owned GitHub repository was also mentioned in the subpoenas, as well as Discord's servers where leaked content was posted. Discord is being asked to provide identifying information, device/telemetry records, and account metadata for users who interacted with relevant servers.

The practical takeaway for developers is that leak investigations are increasingly crossing platform boundaries. Social accounts, cloud storage, device fingerprints, and internal moderation logs can all become part of the evidence trail.
