Take-Two Serves Subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord in GTA 6 Leak Investigation
Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, has issued subpoenas in federal court to Microsoft and Discord as part of its investigation into GTA 6 leaks. The move aims to identify the individual or individuals behind the recent spate of leaked gameplay videos.
The subpoena requests identifying information associated with user accounts on several Discord servers, including 'discord.gg/darkviperau', which is linked to Australian GTA content creator Matthew 'Matt' Judge. Take-Two wants records related to Microsoft's internal investigation into the leaks and any GTA or Rockstar content from Discord members' OneDrive accounts.
The leaked videos have been published over several days, with a new video released on August 21 containing supercar gameplay and advertising a memecoin linked to a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange. The watermark on this latest video reads: 'HIGHER MARKET CAP = MORE LEEKS.'
Matthew 'Matt' Judge, the content creator mentioned in the subpoena, has denied any involvement with the leaks, stating 'I don't know anything.' He also clarified that he is not the owner of the Discord server referenced in the filing.
