Take-Two Serves Up DMCA Subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord Over GTA VI Leak
A US federal court has granted Take-Two Interactive two DMCA subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord, requiring them to provide information about leaked Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage.
The subpoenas were filed on August 20, 2026, and the court granted them on August 21. The deadline for compliance is September 4, 2026.
The DMCA subpoena directed at Microsoft concerns material allegedly posted to GitHub, which Microsoft owns. It seeks records from Microsoft's investigation into the person or account used to distribute the footage, as well as account details and device identifiers.
The subpoena to Discord seeks identifying information for accounts that communicated in several named servers between June 1, 2026, and September 4, 2026, including device and telemetry data linked to the leaked files.
