Take-Two Subpoenas Microsoft and Discord Over GTA 6 Leaks
Take-Two Interactive has issued subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord in an attempt to identify those behind recent leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) footage. The leaked clips, posted by a user known as Cyberleek, have raised concerns about potential spoilers for the highly anticipated game.
The subpoenas demand that both companies release internal records and data related to online accounts associated with the leaks. This includes OneDrive and Xbox data, which is expected to be handed over by September 4th. The move comes as a leaker that goes by the name Cyberleek has released clips from what seems to be a playable build of GTA 6.
Cyberleak's manifesto, shared online, calls on game companies to stop anti-consumerist practices, including digital pre-orders and locked content behind paywalls. The group also promotes a cryptocurrency meme coin as a way for viewers to vote on which clip should be released next.
