Take-Two Sues Leakers with Subpoenas to Protect GTA 6 Intellectual Property
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, is cracking down on leaks related to Grand Theft Auto 6. The game's release date is still months away, but a leaker has been posting snippets online, sparking concerns about intellectual property protection.
The leaker appears to have obtained a build of the game and shared it with various platforms, including Discord and GitHub. Take-Two has filed a petition with the US District Court in New York, seeking a subpoena for data from Microsoft and Discord to identify the individuals responsible for the leaks.
The company is requesting information such as IP access logs, email addresses, phone numbers, and device identifiers from Discord users suspected of leaking copyrighted content. It's also asking for details about attempts to identify the leakers on the GitHub repository where GTA 6 was posted.
