Take-Two Sues Microsoft and Discord Over GTA 6 Leaks
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has filed subpoenas in a US court to force Microsoft and Discord to hand over records related to the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. The company is trying to identify details behind a Discord ID that used the 'CYBERLEEK' handle.
The subpoena against Microsoft stands out as it demands internal business records associated with Microsoft's investigation of the 'cyberleek' persona, in an effort to identify users and entities linked to that persona. The company is also seeking data on three Discord handles and chat servers, including one belonging to Australian GTA content creator Matthew 'Matt' Judge.
Take-Two has been trying to crack down on the leaks, which have been circulating widely on social media. CyberLeek, the group behind the leaks, has portrayed itself as vigilantes out to rein in greedy video game developers, but has also been trying to monetize the leaks by encouraging gamers to 'donate' to their cause through a meme coin on the Solana blockchain.
