Take-Two Takes Aim at GTA 6 Leaks with Microsoft, Discord Subpoenas
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has filed subpoenas against Microsoft, Discord, and X in an effort to combat ongoing Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. The firm is requesting 'any records related to various online accounts involved in posting and sharing leaks,' including user data and linked OneDrive and Xbox accounts.
The subpoenas were filed with the Southern District of New York on August 20, and Microsoft and Discord must produce all related documents by September 4, 2026. Take-Two is seeking to identify the individuals or entities responsible for the leaks and protect its intellectual property rights.
The leaks have been ongoing since last week, with a hacker group known as 'CyberLeek' posting daily updates on GitHub and other platforms. The group has threatened to release new videos daily, despite Take-Two's efforts to shut down the leak.
