Tap to Share Rolls Out to More Android Devices
Google has started rolling out Tap to Share for Pixel 6 and newer devices. This feature allows users to share contact information by bringing their compatible Android device close together with another Android device. The capability is an extension of Quick Share, a system that enables instant sharing between devices.
To send photos, videos, and other media types, users must first open their phone's system Share sheet and then tap the devices together. This feature was initially announced for the Pixel 11 series but is now being rolled out to Pixel 6 and newer devices as a redux of Android Beam.
According to Google, Tap to Share will also be available on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8 devices in the near future. The company plans to expand this feature to more Android devices by the end of the year.
