TAROM Takes First Boeing 737 MAX as Fleet Renewal Strategy Gains Momentum

Romania's national carrier TAROM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking a milestone in the airline's fleet modernization and growth strategy.

The new plane, leased from CDB Aviation, is the first of two 737-8 models that will renew TAROM's single-aisle fleet, which currently includes four 737 Next-Generation jets.

TAROM CEO Cristian Anghel said the addition of the 737 MAX to its fleet would provide operational consistency and increased efficiency, reducing fuel use by 20% compared to the airplanes they replace. 'Fleet renewal and efficient operational capacity are essential components of our restructuring plan,' he added.

The 737-8 will fly on routes connecting Bucharest with major European capitals, offering an enhanced passenger experience. Boeing's sales director for Eurasia and India, Mario Antonio Ebcim, said the delivery reflected TAROM's trust in the 737 family and the company's partnership with the airline.
