TAROM Takes First Delivery of Boeing 737 MAX in Fleet Overhaul
Romanian flag carrier TAROM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 as part of a wider restructuring and fleet renewal program. The aircraft, named Mircea Lucescu after the Romanian football manager, is leased to TAROM by CDB Aviation.
The delivery comes later than initially planned, with TAROM expecting two CDB Aviation aircraft between December 2025 and January 2026 in 2024.
TAROM currently operates four Boeing Next-Generation narrowbody aircraft and plans to use the new MAX jets on routes linking Bucharest with major European capitals. The airline expects the MAX to improve efficiency while retaining commonality with its existing 737 operations.
