TAROM Welcomes First Boeing 737-8 Amid Fleet Modernization Efforts
Romanian carrier TAROM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-8, a significant step in modernizing its fleet. The aircraft is leased from CDB Aviation and will be used to connect Bucharest with major European capitals.
The 737 MAX provides operational consistency and increased efficiency, reducing fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% compared to the airplanes it replaces. This is due to aerodynamic changes and powerplant upgrades, including the Boeing Advanced Technology winglet and CFM International LEAP-1B engines.
TAROM's general manager, Cristian Anghel, said: 'Fleet renewal and efficient operational capacity are essential components of our restructuring plan, enabling us to achieve operational efficiency.'
