TCL Brings Xbox App to Smart TVs Ahead of Microsoft's Pay-As-You-Go Launch
Microsoft is expanding its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to more devices, partnering with TCL to bring the Xbox app to supported TCL smart TVs. The move comes as Microsoft introduces a pay-as-you-go option for Xbox Cloud Gaming in November.
The Xbox app will allow users to connect to Xbox Cloud Gaming and stream Game Pass titles or select games they own as part of a subscription. However, this expansion is accompanied by some limitations for existing subscribers: Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be limited to 15 hours of cloud access per month, while Premium subscribers will get 10 hours, and Essential subscribers will have just 5 hours.
For those who need more playtime, Microsoft will offer bundles of additional cloud hours. This change is part of a broader strategy by Microsoft to increase accessibility and revenue from its cloud gaming service.
