Tech Gains Lift Wall Street Amid Ongoing Iran Conflict
U.S. stocks rose on Wall Street after a downbeat start to the week, helped by gains in technology companies and relatively steady oil prices.
The S&P 500 index increased 0.4% to snap a three-day losing streak, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 209 points or 0.4%. The Nasdaq composite was up 0.3%.
Technology and communication services stocks led the gains, with Nvidia rising 3.3%, Meta increasing 2.2%, and Netflix growing 1.8%. Dell Technologies also jumped 13% after delivering strong second-quarter profits.
However, the market remains anxious about rising prices, government debt, and the impact of global conflicts on the U.S. economy.
