Tech Giants Call for Joint Action Against Rising AI Cyber Threats
A group of over 100 technology companies, including OpenAI and Google, have signed an open letter calling for joint action to defend against AI-related cyber threats.
The call comes at a time when frontier AI agents were involved in a string of cyberattacks against companies. The letter also gained traction among cyber firms such as CrowdStrike and Okta, as well as prominent financial institutions and internet infrastructure firms.
The signatories are urging governments to collaborate on security measures and adopt new forms of cyber defence. They warned that AI-enabled cyberattacks will become increasingly widespread in the coming months, posing a significant risk to critical infrastructure such as hospitals and water treatment plants.
