The world's four largest technology companies - Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon - have collectively committed to investing nearly $2.4 trillion in artificial intelligence infrastructure development.

This unprecedented scale of investment is aimed at building data centers, leasing energy supply, and equipment procurement, signaling a rapid growth in demand for computing power for AI systems.

Among these companies, Alphabet's parent company has reported the largest volume of future spending, with $902 billion in commitments, more than nine times last year's figure. Meta announced nearly $700 billion in future spending, with approximately half allocated to long-term leases of data centers for up to 30 years.

Despite investor doubts and negative free cash flow faced by Alphabet and Amazon, the companies have stated their intention to continue increasing spending, citing the rapid growth in demand for computing power.
