A 15-year-old New Jersey girl dropped her lawsuit against Meta Platforms, Inc., Alphabet Inc., and Snap Inc. The teenager had accused these social media giants of contributing to addiction, depression, and self-harm.

No payment was made to the plaintiff in the voluntary dismissal.

In a separate development, Google's Firebase platform is under scrutiny in India for its alleged link to bank-impersonation scams. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre has ordered Google to shut down hundreds of Firebase accounts due to malware distribution and theft of sensitive financial data.
