Tech Giants Sound Alarm on Impending AI Hack Wave
Major tech companies are sounding the alarm about an impending wave of AI-driven hacks. In a joint letter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon, along with over 100 other companies, called for a society-wide defensive surge to protect against these threats.
The letter warns that AI-enabled cyberattacks will become more widespread in the coming months as models around the world become increasingly capable. It urges government and industry leaders to bring their resources and expertise to bear on this issue.
The companies are calling for governments to expedite trusted access programs, which give certain companies access to more powerful models ahead of the general public. They also urge all organizations to prioritize cyber defense.
