Tech Giants Sound Alarm on Rising AI Threats

A group of 100 firms, including tech giants Google and Microsoft, have signed an open letter calling on countries and organisations to boost their cyber defences before AI becomes too powerful.

The letter warns that current security measures 'won't be enough' as AI attacks become more widespread and sophisticated in the coming months.

The group criticises the 'historic under-resourcing' of security around critical infrastructure, such as hospitals and water utilities.

Firms like Capital One, MasterCard, Visa, Adobe, Oracle, and IBM have also signed the letter, calling on governments to provide 'capable, defensive AI' and testing for these organisations.
