Tech Journalist Reveals How to Silence Microsoft's Persistent Prompts on Windows 11

A long-time tech journalist and staff writer for MakeUseOf has shared his experience of dealing with Microsoft's persistent prompts on Windows 11. Brandon, who prefers using a Mac, notes that he gets nagged with offers and upgrades after setting up a new computer. He found ways to disable most of these annoying prompts.

The first step was to stop the 'Let's finish setting up your PC' wizard, which can be done by going to Settings > System > Notifications > Additional settings and unchecking items like 'Suggest ways to get the most out of Windows.'

Brandon also disabled Bing search results in his Start menu search by making a registry tweak. He notes that doing this requires caution and should only be done with care.

Another way to minimize Microsoft's nagging is to turn off personalized offers, which can be found in Settings > Privacy & Security > Recommendations & offers. Brandon turns off Personalized offers and Recommendations and offers in Settings.
