Tech Stocks Lead Wall Street Rebound Amid Ongoing Iran Conflict
Wall Street stocks rebounded on Wednesday as tech companies and relatively stable oil prices lifted the market after a downbeat start to the week.
Nvidia led the gains, rising more than 3% and lifting the Dow Jones Industrial Average by 0.6%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq composite also gained 0.5% each.
Despite the increase in oil prices due to the ongoing Iran conflict, Brent crude settled at $95.63 per barrel, up only 1%. Chevron's shares edged 0.3% higher after confirming it will expand operations in Venezuela.
The bond market remained relatively steady, with the yield on the 10-year Treasury falling to 4.78% from 4.79% late Tuesday.
