Tech Stocks Surge After Strong Earnings Reports from Nvidia, Salesforce
Technology stocks led Wall Street on Thursday as several major companies reported higher profits than expected. Nvidia, Salesforce, and others exceeded analysts' projections for their spring earnings.
The S&P 500 index rose by 0.2%, bringing it closer to its all-time high set earlier this month. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 12 points, or less than 0.1%, as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time.
The Nasdaq composite, which is heavily weighted with technology stocks, saw a gain of 0.6%. Nvidia and Salesforce were among the companies that reported impressive profits, leading to the surge in tech stocks.
