Tech Stocks Surge as Software Falters Amid Global Economic Uncertainty

Share

The stock market is experiencing mixed results today, with some indices showing strength and others weakness.

Chipmakers are leading the way, as evidenced by the surge in the iShares Semiconductor ETF SOXX, which has risen over 1%. Marvell Technology MRVL is up more than 5%, followed closely by Sandisk SNDK. Western Digital WDC and Micron Technology MU have also seen significant gains, increasing by over 4%.

This boost in tech stocks is attributed to the stellar revenue growth reported by Anthropic PBC, which has bolstered expectations of sustained spending on artificial intelligence.

However, software companies are experiencing a decline, with Datadog DDOG leading the pack at -3%. Salesforce CRM and Adobe Systems ADBE have also seen losses, dropping over 2% each. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is feeling the pressure from these weak performances.
