Tech Workers Choose Between Big Tech Giants and Frontier AI Labs
Big Tech companies are competing fiercely for AI talent as they pour billions into AI infrastructure. Meanwhile, frontier AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic offer workers the chance to work at the edge of a technological shift with potentially significant financial upside.
Business Insider spoke with eight tech workers about their dream employer, Big Tech companies they're most and least interested in, and whether they've pursued jobs at OpenAI or Anthropic. Abhinav Bohra, a senior applied scientist at Amazon, says he'd choose Amazon as his top choice, but with NVIDIA as his runner-up.
'I build recommendation engines,' Bohra explained. 'A frontier lab has no real use for one yet: no catalog, no sellers, no shoppers to rank for.'
Mike Kostersitz, a senior director at Nike, says Anthropic would be his dream employer outside of Nike, citing the company's values as a major draw.
