Techie Quits Salesforce for Google Amid Feelings of Imposter Syndrome
A Bengaluru-based techie left his job at Salesforce to join Google after feeling like an outsider despite achieving success in his previous role. He shared his journey on social media, recalling how he struggled with coding and technical discussions when he started working at Samsung.
The techie, who goes by @bug_to_feature on Instagram, said that he devoted 6-8 hours every day to learning DSA, system design, and technology stacks for two months in 2024. His efforts helped him crack Salesforce, but the feeling of being an outsider never left him.
He continued spending hours after work at Salesforce learning design practices and solving DSA problems he had not tackled before. 'I lived the most disciplined life in Bangalore with my time divided between office, gym & upskilling,' he said.
The techie's decision to leave Salesforce was driven by a desire to prove to himself that he deserved his place among top tech professionals. He clarified that his decision was not intended to undermine either Samsung or Salesforce and was all about his personal ambition.
