Teledyne Unveils GroundLink Edge Computing Platform for Boeing 737 Aircraft
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated has launched its GroundLink Edge Computing Platform (ECP) and AppLink cloud service for Boeing 737 aircraft, following FAA Supplemental Type Certificate approval. This marks a significant milestone in bringing software-defined aircraft data platforms to commercial fleets.
The GroundLink ECP shifts beyond traditional avionics and Aircraft Interface Device architectures to deliver an open onboard edge computing environment, integrating 5G cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and ARINC interfaces with an application server. Operators can remotely deploy and manage applications developed internally or by certified third parties, with consistent performance across fleet types.
Teledyne Controls President Mehrdad Radmehr said the launch of GroundLink ECP represents a transformative step forward for customers and the industry. He added that it gives operators direct control over onboard applications, unlocking new ways to improve operations and accelerate innovation.
