Temporal Valuation Surges to $12.5 Billion in Latest Funding Round
Temporal, an AI software startup, has raised $550 million in a late-stage funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company's valuation more than doubled to $12.55 billion in just seven months, driven by investor demand for startups seen as benefiting from the AI boom.
The open-source software developed by Temporal helps applications and AI agents recover from failure without requiring engineers to write custom recovery code. Despite being free-to-use, Temporal generates revenue through its commercial platform, Temporal Cloud, which has over 4,300 customers including OpenAI, Snap, Nvidia, Netflix, and JPMorgan Chase.
The company plans to use the funds raised to expand global operations and deepen research and development of its platform. With an annualized revenue run rate surpassing $250 million, more than tripled year-over-year, Temporal is poised for continued growth.
