Tennessee Properties Up for Historic Preservation
The Tennessee Historical Commission has announced that eleven properties across the state will be up for consideration on the National Register of Historic Places. The list includes two Middle Tennessee locations, two West Tennessee properties, and seven East Tennessee sites.
One of the notable properties is a former Coca-Cola bottling plant in Davidson County. Located at 1525 Church Street, the building was originally constructed in 1926 and added onto in 1940 and around 1955. It's considered an 'excellent example of ornate industrial architecture from the early twentieth century' with 'tapestry brick and muted Art Deco references.'
The Lawrence County Courthouse is another Middle Tennessee location up for consideration, known for its New Formalism style with a colonnade of arched columns and darkly tinted windows.
