Tensor G6 Struggles to Keep Pace with Rival Processors
The Tensor G6 processor in Google's Pixel 11 series is facing increased competition from rival phones, particularly when it comes to raw performance and battery life.
According to benchmark tests, Apple's iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max boast CPU scores that are up to 43% faster than the Tensor G6 in single-core scenarios and 35% faster in multi-core scenarios. The custom GPU in the iPhone 17 series also outperforms Google's partnership with Imagination Technologies, scoring up to 73% faster in GPU benchmarks.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy variant, flies past the Tensor G6 in CPU metrics and GPU performance. The raw numbers show a 36% lead in single-core performance and a 53% lead in multi-core performance compared to the Pixel 11 Pro XL.
Even last year's Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, sporting an older Exynos 2400 chip, managed to beat the Tensor G6 in graphics performance. The phone also offers a more affordable price point of $699 for future-proof performance without breaking the bank.
