Tepper and Tudor See Value in Troubled Boeing Stock
Billionaire investors David Tepper and Paul Tudor Jones have initiated new positions in Boeing (NYSE:BA), signaling their confidence in the company's long-term recovery. This vote of confidence comes despite a 12% decline in Boeing stock over the last year due to manufacturing flaws and regulatory scrutiny.
The 13F filings, which reflect institutional holdings as of June 30, show that Tepper's Appaloosa Management and Tudor Investment's Jones have both established new positions in Boeing. This is notable because the company's chart has deteriorated into a Death Cross, with its 50-day moving average falling below its 200-day moving average.
Boeing's defense business is expected to benefit from a ballooning U.S. military budget, which could reach an unprecedented $1.5 trillion for fiscal year 2027. The company has already received an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a ceiling value of $131.2 billion to support the U.S. Air Force's F-15 Eagle program through 2037.
