Tepper Doubles Down on Top Tech Stocks Amid Strong Growth
Billionaire investor David Tepper's investment strategy has been in focus recently, particularly his buying and selling activities in the second quarter. According to The Motley Fool, Tepper of Appaloosa Management added to positions in several 'Magnificent Seven' stocks during this period.
The stocks that caught Tepper's attention include Amazon (AMZN), Meta Platforms (META), Alphabet (GOOGL), and Nvidia (NVDA). As the largest holding in his portfolio, Amazon is estimated to represent over 15% of it. The company's cloud computing unit, AWS, has been growing rapidly with a 37% year-over-year increase in Q2.
Amazon's e-commerce side is also performing well due to its internal investments in robotics and AI. Meanwhile, Meta Platforms is another key holding for Tepper, which he was aggressively buying in the quarter. Despite concerns about the company's AI infrastructure spending, it has a forward P/E of 16 times 2027 analyst estimates.
Nvidia is also a top-10 holding for Tepper and saw him add more shares during Q2. With its GPUs being the main chips used to train AI models, Nvidia has been at the forefront of AI infrastructure. Its unique end-to-end solution in the inference market makes it an attractive buy at current levels.
