Teradata Brings Enterprise AI Directly to Microsoft OneLake
Teradata is addressing a major friction point in cloud analytics by bringing AI algorithms directly to stored data through an integration between its Autonomous Knowledge Platform and Microsoft OneLake.
Enterprise customers will be able to run Teradata high-performance enterprise AI directly on data stored in OneLake without using ETL pipelines, data duplication or data migration.
Sumeet Arora, Chief Product Officer at Teradata, says that moving data to analyse it is a constraint that adds cost and complexity without adding value. He notes that bringing Teradata enterprise AI directly to Microsoft OneLake means customers can run the workloads that matter on the data where it already lives.
The integration enables users to query OneLake tables in place using standard Iceberg APIs, with cross-platform authentication and access controls handled natively through Microsoft Entra ID. This allows enterprises to join and analyse data from both environments without consolidating it into a single system or rebuilding governance from scratch.
