Teradata Brings Enterprise AI Directly to Microsoft OneLake
Teradata has integrated its Autonomous Knowledge Platform with Microsoft OneLake, enabling enterprise AI workloads to run directly on data stored in OneLake without the need for ETL pipelines, data duplication, or migration. This integration is built on open Apache Iceberg standards and allows Teradata users to query OneLake tables in place using standard Iceberg APIs.
The integration eliminates the need for customers to maintain separate ETL pipelines, which can be time-consuming and costly. Data engineers will spend less time maintaining pipelines, AI teams can begin feature engineering without waiting for data replication, and governance, including security policies and lineage, travels with the data rather than being rebuilt for each copy.
The integration supports read access to OneLake tables via Iceberg APIs, with Microsoft Entra ID handling cross-platform authentication. Customers can run Teradata AI analytical workloads against data stored in OneLake without modifying that data or requiring it to exist anywhere else.
