Ternus Era Begins: Apple Stock Slips Ahead of Keynote
Apple's stock price slipped to $319 per share on Tuesday, down from last week's closing price of $328.21, ahead of John Ternus' first keynote as CEO. The event is expected to be one of the most scrutinized in a decade, with analysts divided on what to expect.
Ternus took over from Tim Cook on September 1, and analysts are anticipating three new iPhone models: the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which will retain their current display sizes but upgrade to a 2-nanometer A20 Pro chip, and Apple's first foldable handset. The foldable phone is expected to have a book-style design with a 5.5-inch outer OLED panel and a 7.8-inch inner display.
The pricing of the new iPhones could be a key factor in determining their success. Citi estimates that the foldable iPhone will start above $2,000, while KeyBanc predicts prices ranging from $1,249 for the iPhone 18 Pro to $2,199 for the foldable phone.
