Ternus Inherited $58M Pay Package, Cook's Compensation Takes a Hit
Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, is set to receive a compensation package worth around $58 million in fiscal 2027. The majority of this will come from stock awards, with Ternus receiving $55 million. This includes $3 million per year in salary and $55 million in stock awards, which are tied to Apple's performance against other S&P 500 companies.
The remaining 25% of the stock award is performance-based, but will also be paid out over four years. Ternus will receive a separate $2.5 million stock award for his time as CEO in fiscal 2026.
This comes just days before Apple's September 9 event, where the company is expected to unveil its iPhone 18 lineup under Ternus' leadership. Analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on Apple stock, with an average price target of $339.94 per share implying 5% upside potential.
