Ternus Takes Cue from Jobs: Apple Dials In on iPhone
Apple's new CEO John Ternus is taking a page from Steve Jobs' playbook by focusing on one product - the iPhone. At the company's recent 'Surprise and Shine' event, Ternus emphasized the iPhone as the intelligent personal hub of Apple's future strategy.
This shift in focus is a departure from Tim Cook's approach, which included diversifying Apple's products and market share. Ternus' emphasis on the iPhone has drawn comparisons to Jobs, who famously devoted years to popularizing the Macintosh computer.
The new CEO's attention on the iPhone is evident in the upcoming release of the iPhone Duo, a foldable smartphone starting at $1,999, as well as the latest iPhone models. Apple stock has seen an uptick in value since the event, with shares up 2.47% to $334.62.
Ternus' approach may be a gamble, but it's clear that he is comfortable putting all his eggs in one basket - at least for now.
