Ternus Takes Reins at Apple Amid Investor Calm
Apple Inc (AAPL) stock is up 2.58% as of 1:41 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, after John Ternus took over as CEO from Tim Cook.
This marks the first time in 15 years that Apple has transitioned its chief executive since Tim Cook replaced Steve Jobs in 2011.
Despite being a new CEO, investors seem reassured by Cook's continued involvement with the company, where he will serve as Executive Chairman and engage with policymakers worldwide.
