Ternus Takes the Reins at Apple Amid AI Hurdles

John Ternus took over as Apple's CEO on September 1, succeeding Tim Cook after nearly 15 years at the helm.

Ternus has been with Apple since 2001 and most recently served as senior vice president of hardware engineering. He played a key role in developing several key products, including the iPad, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Vision Pro.

Cook officially moved into the role of executive chairman on September 1 and is expected to focus partly on Apple's relationships with policymakers worldwide.

The leadership transition comes as Apple faces significant challenges in artificial intelligence (AI), with investors expecting Ternus to accelerate the company's AI strategy while maintaining its strong product ecosystem.
