Ternus Takes the Reins at Apple: New CEO's Compensation Package Revealed
Apple's new CEO John Ternus will earn significantly less than his predecessor Tim Cook in fiscal year 2027. According to a report, Ternus' annual salary is $3 million, with a stock grant valued at $55 million. In contrast, Cook earned around $74.3 million in total compensation for 2025, including a $2 million salary and a $45 million stock package.
The pay disparity between the two CEOs is notable, especially considering that Ternus' compensation will be affected by Apple's stock price. However, it's worth noting that Cook's stock grants are tied to half of the S&P 500 investments, making his pay less dependent on Apple's performance overall.
Ternus is expected to remain in the role for some time and will also act as a government liaison for Apple, according to the report. The new CEO's compensation package may change over time as awards, grants, and bonuses are awarded by the end of 2027.
