Ternus to Pocket $58M in First Year as Apple's New CEO
Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, is set to make a staggering $58 million in his first full year at the helm. This significant increase from Steve Jobs' famously modest $1 annual salary comes as part of a new compensation package that includes both a base salary and an equity award tied to performance.
The former Hardware Engineering vice president has been with Apple since 2001, overseeing work on products like the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPods. Apple's non-executive chair, Arthur Levinson, praised Ternus as 'the best possible leader' to succeed Tim Cook, citing his leadership, technical knowledge, and focus on Apple's products.
Ternus has also joined the social media platform X, where he has quickly gained a large following after posting only once: a lowercase 'hello'.
