Tesla Social Media Influencers Like College Students on Tequila Shot Frenzy, Says Gary Black

The Future Fund's Gary Black has been critical of Tesla's (NASDAQ:TSLA) overoptimistic social media influencers. He believes their enthusiasm is unfounded and compares them to college students whooping it up as they down tequila shots.

Black thinks the bulls on social media are ignoring evidence that the Cybercab, a key feature touted by Elon Musk, cannot drive without safety monitors. He says there's no proof of unsupervised autonomy and that Tesla's stock price 'makes no sense' with a P/E ratio of 200x 2026 earnings.

Black notes that other companies like Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL), Baidu Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU), and Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) are also working towards unsupervised autonomy through their vehicle units.
