Tesla Stock Slumps as OpenAI and Nvidia Enter Humanoid Robot Fray
Tesla's stock price fell nearly 5% on Monday after announcements from OpenAI and Nvidia threatened to challenge its humanoid robot, Optimus.
The news came as Tesla prepares to enter production with Optimus this year, a project Elon Musk has called 'the biggest product of all time.'
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced the launch of an OpenAI Robotics division over the weekend, which will focus on developing robots for skilled labor in infrastructure projects and eventually personal use.
Nvidia also partnered with Chinese robotics firm Unitree to integrate its H2 humanoid robots with Nvidia's computing module and platform for advanced development.
